Edinson Roberto Cavani Gómez, was born in Salto, Uruguay on February 14, 1987. The famed Uruguayan striker footballer plays for the team of Paris Saint Germain in the Ligue 1 of France. The player is also an international player with the team of Uruguay.

Edinson Cavani moved to Montevideo when he was 15 years old and started playing football at the lower echelons of the Danubio team. In 2006 he debuted with the first team, participating in the title obtained by the team in the Apertura Championship that year.

In 2007, after his outstanding participation with the Uruguayan team Sub-20, it was rumored the possibility that Edinson Cavani was acquired by the Italian clubs Milan or Juventus, or by Boca Juniors of Argentina, and even appointed Real Madrid, but eventually was hired by Palermo. On July 17 2010 the Napoli of the Calcio, officially announced the signing of the salteño striker. Edinson Cavani made his debut on August 19, and in December of the same year he did his first hat trick with the Azzurri shirt against the Netherlands Utrecht, in the Europa League. Cavani completed his first year with 47 games played and 33 goals, consecrating as vice-Capocannoniere behind the Italian player Antonio Di Natale. On May 19, continued his contract with Napoli until June 30 2016. The acclaimed soocer player would become the second most expensive signing in the history of a Uruguayan player, behind Luis Suarez, for whom the football Club Barcelona had paid 81 million euros. Furthermore, with this million dollar figure, Cavani broke a record signing, as he would become the most expensive player in the history of Ligue 1, beating the 60 million euros paid by Monaco for the Colombian player Radamel Falcao.

Edinson Cavani enlisted with the Uruguayan football team U-20 in the South American Championship 2007 played in Paraguay, where he was the top scorer of the competition with 7 goals in 9 games. The famous soccer player made his debut in the national team with a goal in the friendly on February 6, 2008 against Colombia at the Estadio Centenario. In the 2010 World Cup he scored a goal in the match for the third place played against Germany. Today is one of the figures and unquestioned head of the Selection of Uruguay, where he wears the number 21.
