Jorge Lorenzo is a popular Spanish Moto GP pilot who is world champion in the category of 250 D.C. and three times number one in Moto GP. He is one of the most popular Spanish sportsmen and he is considered to be one of the best bike riders as he has been ranked first in more than 60 races.

Jorge Lorenzo was born on May 4, 1987 in Palma de Mallorca. His parents were racing fans, and transmitted their passion to his son. When he was only four, he got a bike made by his father and three years later he made his debut in an official competition, the Balearic Championship. He finished the race being first. In 1997 he debuted in the 50 D.C. with good results and when he turned 13 he made the leap to 125 D.C. being in fourth place with Monlau Competition team, with whom he remained until 2002, year in which he signed for Derbi. The famous pilot won his first race of 125 D.C. in 2003, finishing in the 12th position in the world ranking. The next season he finished in the 4th position in the ranking. A year after he signed for the Honda team and, he gets more irregular results than the ones he had in the previous season, where he didn’t win any race. However, when he signed for Aprilia in 2006, the famous pilot gets to be number one in the world when he was only 19, a position he repeated the following year.

The famous MotoGP pilot debuted in Yamaha in 2008, being fourth in the world ranking and reaching the first position two years later. By then, Lorenzo was already considered one of the best bike riders because of the amount of awards obtained at his young age. In 2012 he stays at the gates to be a leader but in the following season is first again. The bike rider has been always very consistent and got good results in the following years, finishing second and third in 2013 and 2014, winning his third world championship in 2015.

Lorenzo has won 40 victories and 97 podiums in MotoGP and he is considered the fifth rider in the history of World Championship victories has won more grand prix.
